REASONS WHY MILK THISTLE SILYMARIN IS A POWERFUL HERB

Reasons Why Milk Thistle Silymarin Is a Powerful Herb

Milk thistle silymarin is a powerful herb that has a number of salubrious benefits for anyone living in the industrialized world. Silymarin is the active ingredient in the milk thistle seed which is of such assistance to the human body in so many ways.

In my opinion, milk thistle is as close to a magic drug as you can ever get and the great news is, it’s not a drug. It’s 100% natural. Milk thistle is perhaps the most effective solution to clean the liver of everything — from alcohol to prescription drugs that are in many cases probably doing you more harm than good anyway.

DIGGING DEEPER INTO THE BENEFITS OF MILK THISTLE SILYMARIN

CAN REGENERATE THE LIVER

The only place you can find silymarin is in the milk thistle seed. Silymarin has the ability to actually regenerate the liver even in cases of long-term alcohol abuse and heavy drug use. Silymarin has an amazing two-fold effect whereby it not only cleans the liver but detoxifies even the weakest of livers at the same time.

Even in cases where the liver has begun to harden from cirrhosis or there’s inflammation of the liver due to hepatitis, the silymarin present in the milk thistle seed has an incredible ability to regenerate a dirty liver.

WONDERFUL PREVENTATIVE HERBAL MEDICINE

The powerful milk thistle seed, which is widely available in pill form from health food stores all over the world without prescription, is also a wonderful preventative herbal medicine.

As toxins arrive in the body from sources such as alcohol, drugs, prescription medicines or pesticides, silymarin actively promotes the flushing of these toxins from the liver while helping to detoxify the body at the same time.

TREATMENT OF LIVER DISEASE

Milk thistle’s potent silymarin compound can help treat liver disease, including hepatitis and cirrhosis like I mentioned earlier, as well as helping to encourage bile flow naturally in patients with gallbladder disease.

Since the liver can get bogged down easily when the body is saturated with the leftover residues from living in a polluted environment, as well as dealing with self-induced toxins like alcohol and drugs, milk thistle has a positive effect on getting the liver moving in the right direction. The detoxifying effect silymarin has on the liver has also been seen to help individuals overcome chronic depression due to a stagnant liver.

GOOD FOR THE SKIN

Since milk thistle is such an effective liver cleaner, this produces positive results for the skin since harmful toxins often build up in the blood that ends up clogging the pores of the skin, which cause skin conditions like acne and eczema. Patients with chronic skin conditions and irritations have reported significant improvements in the skin after treatment with silymarin.

Although milk thistle and the silymarin compound are as close to a magic weapon as you’ll ever get, in the fight against and the prevention of liver-related health conditions, it’s not a miracle cure that’ll allow you to abuse your body without consequence.

Silymarin is, however, a potent herbal medicine we have at our disposal and something to consider before taking harmful chemicals to fix any medical condition. The standard adult silymarin dosage is 200mg 2-3 times per day before meals.

As always, consult your doctor before taking new medicine even if it’s herbal, just in case you happen to have some type of adverse reaction.

When you put together the sum total of my 30 years of bodybuilding training, the contests, the vast array of diets I have experimented (tortured) myself with as well as the experiences I have been through with various training partners in the gyms I have trained in all over the world, it’s been a great ride and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to be able to do lots of personal training for private clients alongside my day job. For a few years during my 30’s, I moved to Asia and worked as the Fitness Manager and head personal trainer at one of Thailand’s leading gyms in Bangkok. Learn More
